Finding a Musician For Your Local Band

May 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Local bands are inspiring part of communities.  Most local bands are formed by close friends, and usually they play for fun, not for the money.

But sometimes a friend or a band member must leave the band for different reasons.  And the rest of the band members need to find somebody new.  In the old days, finding a musician for your local band was one of the hardest things.  Now, with the help of internet, it is much easier.

Most of the bands around me use Craigslist for finding a new band member.  Craigslist even has a Musicians Category (Change New York to your location) under their Community section.  Bands advertise here for free to find new members.  There are even some ads about starting a band.  So, if you decide to start your own band, it would be a great place to find the other band members.

How do you go with finding a musician for your local band?  Do you use Craigslist? Are there other websites out there that helped you?

Fender Guitar Color Options

May 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I have been a huge fan of Fender Guitars since I had my first Classic Fender Strat.  I knew Fender had many color options, but I didn’t know how many exactly.

My favorite Fender color is sunburst.  Sunburst looks great on Fender strats.

I was browsing through Fender’s website, and found out about Fender Guitars Color Chart.  I’m surprised that Fender offers 100 different color options for their guitars, wow.

Anyways, if you are looking to purchase a new Fender, you know that you have so many color options.  What’s your favorite Fender color by the way?

Free Classical Guitar Sheet Music

May 11, 2008 · 1 Comment

When we were learning the classical guitar back in 90’s, one of the hardest thing was to find sheet music for classical guitars.  There was no such thing as internet where we could find thousands of free sheet music.  We had to buy it from local guitar stores, or borrow from our friends and get a copy of it.

Now, the internet era has brought so many advantages to the guitar players.  You can buy any type of sheet music online.  You can also find so many free sheet music for classical guitar.  For beginners, sometimes it’s hard to find the free sheet music sources.  Many websites which says they offer free sheet music actually try to sell you sheet music.  So I’ve gathered a list of websites where you can find free classical guitar sheet music.

Free Classical Guitar Sheet Music Resources

These are some of the awesome free resources for classical guitar sheet music.  I’ll be adding more resources to this list.  If you have any suggestions, please add as a comment, and I’ll be happy to review and update this list.
