Story of Jackson Guitars

June 17, 2008 · 2 Comments

A guy named Grover Jackson owns the Jackson Guitar Brand.  Jackson Guitars started with the “Rhoads” V model guitar, originally designed and used by guitarist Randy Rhoads.

Jackson Guitars has become known for its slender and elegant models, these guitars have an aggressive look and they are pretty popular with harder rock and metal music players.

During the Fall of 2002, Fender has purchased Jackson/Charvel, and manufacturing plant was moved to the Fender factory in Corona, CA.

If you are a fan of hard rock or metal music, and trying to decide which electric guitar to pick, I’d recommend buying a used Jackson guitar.  I like the sound and quality.

Cort Electric Guitar Review

June 16, 2008 · 2 Comments

One of my friends has asked my opinion about Cort electric guitars.  I have never played a Cort electric guitar, but will stop by one of the local guitar shops and try one out.

Cort electric guitar prices seem pretty reasonable, and there are some good reviews at guitar review sites.

While searching youtube for cort guitar videos, I’ve found this test video for cort electric guitar:

I was wondering if anybody owns a cort electric guitar, and would like to share their views on it?

Free Guitar Lessons by Gibson

June 1, 2008 · 1 Comment

There are many websites that offer free guitar lessons.  Most of them are packed with ads, affiliate offers, etc.  It’s rare that you find a quality free guitar lessons site.

Since the day I’ve played a Gibson Les Paul Standard, I’ve been a big fan of Gibson Guitars.  Gibson’s website has a Free Guitar Lessons section.

If you like to watch the video of a 16 Note A Minor Pentatonic, or 12 Bar Blues or even a Standard 12 Bar Blues, Gibson’s guitar lessons site is a great place.

You can also download over 200 songs at Gibson’s Download Section.

It’s always great for guitar players to find free guitar lessons of any level online.  I hope Gibson takes this section seriously, and keeps adding more tutorials, videos and podcasts to their site.

Also if you play the classical guitar, remember to check Classical Guitar Sheet Music post I’ve written about free sheet music resources.
